Our flag material is chosen for its durability and image vibrancy.

Flags are printed via a process of dye-sublimation which uses special inks and undergoes a post-print heating process to fix the ink into the fabric. This makes it both scuff-resistant and washable.

FAQs

What is knitted polyester flag material?
Knitted polyester is a lightweight fabric widely used for custom printed flags. Its combination of low weight, durability and print quality makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor flag applications.

Can polyester flags be used outdoors?
Yes. This knitted polyester material is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Flags should, however, be taken down during adverse weather and winds above the manufacturer's recommended conditions.

Can you see the design from both sides?
Yes. Standard printing provides approximately 80–90% show-through, so the artwork is visible on the reverse as a mirrored version of the front.

Are custom sizes available?
Yes. Flags can be produced to individual requirements, with an approximate maximum finished width of 3000mm depending on the selected finish.

Can polyester flags be washed?
Yes. Venture advises that the material can be machine washed at 30°C without detergent and should be completely dry before storage.

What finishing options are available?
Options include stitched hems, eyelets, pole pockets, hook-and-loop edging, and rope and toggle, depending on how the finished flag will be installed.

Our thread colours are black or white. Our sewists will choose the most appropriate colour to complement your graphic.

Currently we can only print up to 3 metres on the shortest edge, to our standard pricing. Flags above this size will need a bespoke quotation.

Consider where you position your flag, as air pollution will cause the white areas to become grey and UV can, over time, cause deterioration and fading to the fabric.

Flags can be washed in a regular washing machine on a 40° wash with everyday detergents. Always allow your flag to completely dry out before storing.

Ensure that your flag doesn't catch or snag on its pole or any other surrounding objects. Do not place poles too close together.

Dismantle your flag during adverse weather conditions, including strong winds in excess of beaufort scale 4 (13-18mph). Heavy rain combined with high winds can increase the weight of the flag and put extra strain on the pole.

Life expectancy is entirely dependent on the climatic conditions and hours of flying. Realistic maximum lifespan of a regularly used flag is six months.
